Project Overview
Rubber Band Gun V2 is a fully 3D-printed mechanical rubber band launcher that holds eight rubber bands. It features a cam mechanism that fires and rotates the barrel using a pump-action system, with only two screws needed for assembly.
Approach & Solution
After the simplistic sliding mechanism of V1, V2 was designed to showcase more elegant mechanical motion. The cam-based firing mechanism ensures smooth operation and consistent rotation, combining efficiency with intricate movement.
Outcome & Results
The final design achieved reliable firing and barrel rotation with a robust, compact structure. V2 demonstrated the potential for more complex motion in 3D-printed mechanisms compared to its predecessor.
